It's almost November...

November is going to be a blur.  We should think about when we will meet and what we will discuss.

Last time we met the term "tiered instruction" was raised.  I found a fabulous resource at http://www.saskschools.ca/curr_content/bestpractice/tiered/index.html

Tiering instruction is the part of differentiation where you take one concept and identify what the main ideas are.  Then you might provide instruction in 3 ways to 3 groups with different methods or depth of information.  As long as the main ideas are met, all 3 groups are learning the concepts. You can also differentiate the content, process, or the product in a lesson.

This is a link to an article about PLCs. I thought it was interesting. I posted this previously but I am posting this again as a trial with a hyperlink.

What is your definition of differentiated instruction?

Norms - what have you?

  1. All members listen with an open mind and respect other opinions.
  2. All members actively participate and contribute in both physical and online environments.
  3.  All members give and receive professional feedback that connects to student learning and achievement.
  4. All members will demonstrate a commitment to differentiating our instruction in the classroom.

Blog rules

Glad to see us up and running.  Two things to note:

1) We should not refer to any child by name on the blog
2) When you are ready, let me know and I will show you how to publish your own post for others to add comments.
